Made with Vincentt. Tap a phone to try it with your camera.
Ask how much WebAR costs and you'll hear "it depends." That's true, but it isn't useful. Here's what it actually depends on: who does the building.
The design, the idea, and the brief are yours either way. What changes the price is the work of turning them into an interactive experience that runs in a phone's browser. Change who does that work, and the cost changes by orders of magnitude.
Where the money goes
Every WebAR project pays for the same handful of things. Who covers each one is what sets the price.
- Design. Characters, products, scenes, sound. You or your team usually already have this.
- Build. Tracking, interaction, effects, and making it run smoothly on real phones. Traditionally the biggest bill.
- Revisions. Every "can we try it bigger?" round. Expensive when each one goes back through a developer.
- Hosting and traffic. Getting the experience to people, especially when a campaign takes off.
- Upkeep. Keeping it working as browsers and phones change.
Four ways to make WebAR
1. Hire an agency or studio
A specialist team takes your brief from concept to launch. It's the most hands-off route and the right call for a flagship campaign. It's also the most expensive: agency-built WebAR typically runs from thousands to tens of thousands, and revisions add time and cost.
2. Hire developers
An in-house or freelance developer builds on a WebAR SDK. You get full control, but you're paying for specialist time on every build and every change, and you still need someone to keep it running.
3. Use a template builder
Drag-and-drop tools are cheap and quick for simple effects. The trade-off is that you're limited to what the builder offers. When the idea outgrows the template, you're back to hiring someone.
4. Build with a coding agent on Vincentt
This is where Vincentt fits, and it's the route we recommend. Vincentt works best with a coding agent. You describe the experience and bring your files, and the agent builds it with the Vincentt plugin, previews it on your phone, and publishes it to a link.
If you already use a coding agent such as Claude Code, Codex, or ChatGPT, this is the most cost-efficient way to make WebAR:
- No extra AI bill. Vincentt runs inside the agent you already pay for. There are no separate AI credits.
- Revisions cost a sentence. "Make the frost amber" is a message, not a change request.
- You keep the craft. Your PSDs, Blender scenes, and Figma frames are the starting point, not something to redraw in another tool.
- No app store. One link opens on iPhone and Android, in the browser.
| Coding agent + Vincentt | Agency | Developers | Template builder | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Typical build cost | Your plan + agent you already have | €5,000 – €50,000+[1][2] | €2,000 – €15,000 per build[1][2] | €0 – €100+ / month[1] |
| Time to first preview | Same day | Weeks | Days to weeks | Same day |
| Cost of a revision | A message | A change request | Developer time | Free, within limits |
| Custom interactions | ||||
| No app download |
Prefer to write the code yourself?
Not everyone uses a coding agent, and that's fine. Vincentt is built on an SDK you can use directly: @vincentt-xr/sdk is a React and three.js runtime that gives your app a camera session, face, hand, and body tracking, and the building blocks most camera effects need. Start a project with the CLI and write it by hand:
1npm i -g @vincentt-xr/cli@latest2vincentt login3vincentt create my-appYou get the same preview on a real phone and the same one-link publishing. The difference is time: you write every interaction yourself. That's why, even for developers, we suggest letting a coding agent do the first pass and editing from there.

Pricing WebAR for your clients
If you sell camera experiences, the build used to be the line that ate your margin. With a coding agent doing the build, the hours go into what clients actually pay for: the idea, the design, and the polish.
A few things worth building into a quote:
- Concept and design, the same as any creative job.
- Build and revisions, now measured in hours, not weeks.
- Hosting and traffic for the campaign's run. Plan for peaks if it's going on packaging or a big screen.
- A live preview link clients can open on their own phone before launch.
WebAR or an app?
An app needs separate iPhone and Android builds, store review, and people willing to download it before they see anything. Every one of those steps loses people along the way.[3] WebAR skips all of that: one build, one link, opened in the browser. For campaigns, launches, events, and portfolios, that's usually the better deal.

Questions people ask
How much does WebAR cost?
It depends mostly on who builds it. Agency-built campaigns typically run from thousands to tens of thousands. With Vincentt and a coding agent you already use, you can start on the Free plan and move to a paid plan from £24 a month when you publish more.
Is WebAR free?
You can build and publish your first camera experience on Vincentt's Free plan at no cost. Paid plans add more published projects, traffic, custom domains, and team seats.
Do I need a coding agent to use Vincentt?
No, but it's how Vincentt works best. Developers can write experiences by hand with the Vincentt SDK, a React and three.js runtime with face, hand, and body tracking. We recommend a coding agent because it turns a brief and your files into a working experience much faster.
Do I pay extra for AI with Vincentt?
No. Vincentt runs inside the coding agent you already use, such as Claude Code, Codex, or ChatGPT, on the plan you already have. Vincentt's own plans cover publishing, previews, traffic, and domains.
Is WebAR cheaper than an AR app?
Usually, yes. One WebAR build runs in the browser on both iPhone and Android, with no app store review or separate builds to maintain, and people open it from a link.
